In this blog we are going to show you how to easily install WordPress on our hosting platform. They is various different ways to install, we'll give you fastest and most used methods to save time (and frustration!). WordPress is undoubtedly the most used content management system for users to easily manage, update and edit their own content easily. The WordPress CMS is also free and open source so you'll only need to pay for your hosting provider, and best of all it comes with 1000's of free themes plugins to integrate into your website.
Firstly you'll need a domain (website address) and a web hosting account to store your files and installation, you can get this from any recommended hosting provider either from ourselves by ordering here or through your own site which has Softaculous included. If you've already got your own domain you can use this, if you haven't you buy from our domains page.

Simply find your perfect domain and check availability, we recommend .co.uk if you are a UK company or .com for worldwide. Press check availability and if the domain is shown in green then your domain is available to buy! Press "order selected" to continue onto the next screen and choose how long you'd like to keep your domain. Name servers are already set so you don't need to alter them, login credentials are given via the email you receive after you've ordered your hosting plan.
You'll now have the option to choose your hosting plan. WordPress Hosting is provided in the link above in bold, we'll go more in depth further down the page on how to install so you can start creating!
Softaculous is a one click application installer saving you time in having to create databases and not mess about having to download files before installing, Softaculous does this for you. Softaculous also includes over 400+ one click install scripts including blogs, content management systems, forums, file management and much more.
WordPress is a content management system, created on the 27th May 2003 it has become one of the biggest website platforms for creating websites. WordPress is also free and open-source content management system which is why it's so popular. Written in PHP and paired with a MySQL or MariaDB database. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, referred to within WordPress as Themes.
To install any of the applications simply login to your hosting account, you can do this after ordering your hosting packages by typing in your domain and adding :2222 to the end. Go to the extra features tab and you'll see a list of applications you can choose from, but for this blog we'll be installing WordPress.
Once you've selected WordPress to install you can choose several options including the option to choose http or https. If you're website has an SSL certificate installed then the https would be chosen.
If you haven't got an SSL you can install a free Let's Encrypt SSL within your control panel by going to account manager >>> SSL certificates. Select "Free & automatic certificate from Let's Encrypt" and select your domain from the box list, to add SSL encryption to everything tick "wildcard" and press save.
Back to the installation page remember when filling out your password to make this difficult for other users to try and guess, we recommend a combination of number and symbols.
If you've installed correctly you can login by typing your domain and adding /wp-admin at the end of your domain.
